The University of Maribor, Faculty of Tourism in partnership with regional and international stakeholders is organizing the international scientific conference "Wine and Heritage: Tourism Between Tradition and Innovation" (TEDU26) in Brežice, Slovenia, on September 23–25, 2026.
The International Scientific and Professional Conference TEDU26 focuses on wine as cultural heritage and its significance for tourism. The conference brings together researchers, practitioners, and policymakers from academic and professional backgrounds.
Wine carries deep cultural meanings embedded in landscapes, traditions, rituals, and community identities. Today, wine tourism is shaped by digital innovation, sustainability challenges, and changing visitor expectations. The conference focuses on recent changes in wine tourism, with particular attention to the relationship between heritage, innovation, and tourism development.
