RESEARCH FIELD
My current research agenda comprises three main areas:
- tourist practices in relation to popular culture and media uses (mediatization of tourism, popcultural tourism, locative media and tourist experience),
- travel as social and cultural practice (tourist consumption, lifestyles and class distinction; new trends of stay-cation, work-cation, vanlife, slow travel) and
- politics of mobility and belonging.
I have among others published articles in Tourism: an interdisciplinary journal, Javnost - The Public, and Slavic Review. My chapter contributions have also been published by Routledge and Palgrave Macmillan.

TEACHING APPROACH
My aim is to inspire students to reflect on the symbolic and material aspects of media uses and to evaluate their implications for tourist practices and experiences. I put an emphasis on supporting students to understand complex socio-cultural processes underlying politics of mobilities and forms of tourism in the age of globalization, individualization and mediatization, and to critically reflect on existing (and emerging) social issues in the field of tourism practices. My primary concern is cultivating students’ social sensibility, responsibility, and eagerness to question social realities (and specifically the role of tourism in social configurations). To this end, I am committed to creating an encouraging learning environment for all, also by following principles of active learning and student-centred learning.
