RESEARCH FIELD

My primary research area focuses on the impact of educational methods on the development of entrepreneurial competences and individuals’ overall attitudes towards entrepreneurship. In particular, my research examines the interactions between various psychological constructs and pedagogical approaches, and their influence on the acquisition of entrepreneurial knowledge and skills. The findings of this work have been published in international scientific journals, including the International Journal of Management Education and the Journal of East European Management Studies.

More recently, I have expanded my research focus to the fields of tourism entrepreneurship and management. I am currently engaged in research on the theoretical foundations for redirecting transit tourism towards regional development. In parallel, I investigate small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in tourism, with a particular focus on how the implementation of sustainable business practices influences their long-term market competitiveness and economic resilience.

TEACHING APPROACH

“Theory without practice is lifeless, and practice without theory is blind.” This principle represents the core of my teaching philosophy. I strive for a deep understanding of key concepts, while at the same time ensuring that students immediately apply their knowledge in practice by addressing authentic regional challenges.

I advocate for constructivist pedagogical approaches, which emphasize collaborative work and independent knowledge acquisition, enabling students to develop the competences required to solve real-world problems. At the same time, this approach does not compromise a thorough understanding of fundamental concepts.

I have developed this teaching approach over nearly three decades of pedagogical experience at the secondary school level.

PERSONAL DESCRIPTION

Father. Husband. Endlessly curious. I am driven by a desire to understand the most fundamental truths about the world around me. I approach the acquisition of new knowledge with humility and respect.

I embarked on my doctoral studies with the aim of strengthening my theoretical and methodological competences. In doing so, I find myself joining a group of individuals captured by the saying: “ἓν οἶδα ὅτι οὐδὲν οἶδα” – “I know that I know nothing.”
