RESEARCH FIELD
My chief areas of interest are LSP and terminology. I have studied financial terminology a lot, from a Slovene-English perspective. I am interested in electronic bilingual terminography, corpora-based terminology analysis, terminology management and of course contrastive analysis.
I have designed a model online Slovene-English dictionary of stock market terminology with definitions in both languages, intended for translators and field experts. It organizes terminology according to the concept system, and suggests preferred terms. It will be made accessible via the Termania interface (http://www.termania.net/).
I am a novice in both tourism and academic research. My interests include tourism terminology contrastively (Slovene-English), and green, sustainable tourism and the involvement of stakeholders in the development of destinations.

TEACHING APPROACH
In my seminar, students learn the mechanics of English for tourism and thus train to use a key tool for communicating tourism topics they are studying and will be working with. I use flipped learning because it gives better results: students prepare thoroughly in advance of our meetings and therefore identify the main pain points before the lesson. All problematic issues can then effectively be addressed during class. We practice English by conversing extensively about topics that encourage students to reflect on their interests and values, and their future careers, and which help them shape their vision of tourism of the future.
Personal description
I have been an English language lecturer since 2020 and have worked as a corporate translator for over a decade.
I am a finance and business specialist, having translated operations reports and other complex texts for Slovenian blue-chips and banking and insurance companies for many years. I started my career as a translator at the Ljubljana Stock Exchange.
Right now, I am learning how to teach others. I am passing on my language skills to students with enthusiasm, trying to steer their focus toward the bigger picture: we are all looking for our personal story in a complex world.
