In the past few days, two eminent professors from Great Britain payed us a visit. In addition to the guest lectures, they also participated in workshops and consultations on improving the quality of research and doctoral studies.

During his long career, Prof. Chris Cooper, worked in the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and was awarded the "United Nations WTO Ulysses Prize for Contributions to Tourism Policy and Education" among other things. He is currently an active member of the national panel for the assessment of the quality of research in Great Britain (Panel Member of UK Research Assessment Exercise 2014, 2021) and co-editor of the magazine Current Issues in Tourism. Prof. Cooper is actively involved in the strategic considerations of the research strategy of the UM Faculty of Tourism, the design of the FT UM doctoral study and, as a mentor, also in research cooperation within the framework of the CRP project "Climate change and sustainable development of Slovenian tourism".

Prof. Adele Ladkin is a globally recognized expert in the field of decent work in tourism. During her visit, she led a workshop to help researchers on building a successful individual research career. The visit was also used to further build research cooperation, especially within the framework of the TRP project "The Future of Social Dialogue in the Platform Economy" and international comparative research on working conditions in tourism.
