Free Practical Training: Storytelling in Tourism

As part of the InterWine project, the Faculty of Tourism of the University of Maribor is organising a free two-day practical workshop/training course “Storytelling in Tourism”. The workshop will take place on 10 and 11 June 2026 in Lecture Room 4 at the new premises of the Faculty of Tourism UM in Brežice.

The workshop is intended for winegrowers, tourism providers, accommodation providers, tourist guides, artisans, tourist farms, other tourism stakeholders, students and the wider interested public.

This is a hands-on training course with interactive lectures, workshops, group and individual work, and concrete examples from tourism and cultural heritage. Participants will learn how to present their offer through engaging, authentic and compelling stories, how to use stories to create better visitor experiences, and how to apply storytelling in promotion, guest communication and strengthening the visibility of their offer or destination.

Special emphasis will be placed on connecting local heritage, wine, place and experiences into a comprehensive story that can contribute to a more attractive and recognisable tourism offer.

Upon completion of the training, participants will receive an official certificate of participation and successful completion of the training programme. Catering will also be provided for participants during the event.
