Dear students!
The Government of the Republic of Slovenia adopted a new Ordinance on Temporary Measures for the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases COVID-19 (Official Gazette of RS, no. 174/21; here and after Ordinance) that states:
- for students, who meet the PCT condition with testing or self-testing, the ordinance specifies that the condition is met if the person proves his/her identity with a valid ID and one of the certificates (e.g., digital Covid certificate, record sheet,…),
- in closed spaces it is mandatory to wear a surgical or FFP2 mask (fabric masks are not allowed),
- from 15. 11. 2021, testing for students with HAG test kits for self-testing is performed three times per week (according to the Ordinance, you are eligible for 15 test kits, which you receive the same way as before at pharmacies).
Dear students!
We want to inform you that on 27.10.2021, the Government of the Republic of Slovenia adopted a supplement to the Ordinance of RVT (recovered, vaccinated or tested) condition. The supplement to the Ordinance introduces more frequent self-testing for students (who do not meet the RV condition) from once to twice a week.
The amended measures apply from 1 November 2021. Students are entitled to 10 self-testing tests per month. You can obtain self-testing tests in the pharmacy from 29 October 2021.
Once again, we ask you to take responsible and preventive measures to protect yourself and others. Therefore, take special care to:
- go to the lectures healthy
- consistently take preventive measures for possible transmission of infection such as hand hygiene: frequent washing and disinfection, proper wearing of masks indoors, cough and sneezing hygiene, do not touch your face with unwashed hands, often ventile classrooms, and limit risk contacts
- continue to fulfill the RVT condition for participation in the study process
- follow the faculty's notifications for any additions or changes.

In Slovenia, there are as many as 9 cultural routes that have in the past managed to obtain the Council of Europe's Cultural Routes certificate. The Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe in Slovenia are reviving mutual cooperation.
Despite the extraordinary potential of these routes and their international character, are the routes currently largely left to volunteer enthusiasm and need more systemic assistance and cooperation to further the good integration of European cultural heritage and sustainable tourism.
In Slovenia, there are as many as 9 cultural routes that have in the past managed to obtain the Council of Europe's Cultural Routes certificate. In 2005, the European Cultural Trail of St. Martin was the first to be registered in Slovenia. This year the Iron Age Trail along the Danube and the Trail of Sts. Cyril and Methodius were added as last ones on the list.
The central aim of the Council of Europe's Cultural Routes is in informing about the common European cultural heritage - there are as many as 45 such routes throughout the Europe, which build a network of routes across more or less all European countries and associated members.
Through research in the Interreg Mediterranean BEST MED project, the Faculty of Tourism of the University of Maribor found that despite the extraordinary potential of these routes, the routes often remain dependent on voluntary activity, have insufficient systemic support for further development and lack of connection with Slovenia. As one of the project activities, on 28 September 2021, it organized a one-day event On the Paths of Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe in Slovenia for stakeholders of cultural paths in Slovenia: representatives of cultural paths and representatives of cultural policies in Slovenia.
The primary project of Interreg Mediterranean BEST MED is to increase the sustainability of Mediterranean destinations that are part of the Council of Europe's Cultural Routes, with the main challenge being to address the issue of mutual cooperation between major tourism actors in policy making. The BEST MED project is developed on the basis of an action-research methodology, in which the participation of local stakeholders (from the public and private sectors) is crucial for success. The project involves 11 partners from 10 Mediterranean countries. The project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
The main purpose of the event was to present the content and operation of four Council of Europe's Cultural Routes in Slovenia: European Cemetery Routes, St. Martin's Cultural Routes, Iron Age Routes along the Danube and Iter Vitis Cultural Routes to gathered representatives of cultural route stakeholders.
The participants of the event gathered at the Žale Cemetery in Ljubljana, where the Path of European Cemeteries was presented with a guided tour of Plečnik's Žale, and was first greeted by a representative of the Slovenian Tourist Board, Mrs. Nataša Hočevar. The study tour continued with a tour of the Church of St. Martin in Moravče, which is part of the Cultural Route of St. Martin. The participants were addressed by the mayor of the municipality of Moravče dr. Milan Balazic. At the Dolenjska Museum Novo Mesto, the participants were received by Mrs. Petra Stipančič, who also presented the newly created Iron Age Route along the Danube. In the Dolenjska Museum, the participants had the opportunity to listen to a presentation by the representative of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia, Mrs. Irena Marš and the main coordinator of the Best Med project in Slovenia, assoc. prof. dr. Maja Turnšek. The event ended with a tour of the vineyard cottages and Matjaž's Homestead in Dolenjska, where the participants got acquainted with the tourist offer of the Iter Vitis Cultural Trail, focused on wine tourism.
"The key findings of today's event and our past work with the Council of Europe's Cultural Routes are that these routes offer many opportunities for the development of sustainable tourism, but the full involvement of stakeholders is important for development. Europe in Slovenia to unite and together become a stronger voice in the strategic planning of Slovenian sustainable tourism and the role of culture in it," explained assoc. prof. dr. Maja Turnšek, project coordinator in Slovenia.
Thus, the central conclusion of the participants was that the connection between cultural routes is necessary and that it is necessary to create an integrated and sustainable tourist offer that will be attractive to potential tourists and at the same time provide long-term positive effects of tourism.

Dear students!
We would like to inform you again that the pedagogical process at the University of Maribor will be carried out in person. In case of deterioration of the epidemiological state and in case of adoption of intervention measures by the Government of the Republic of Slovenia, the leadership of the University of Maribor members will have the authority to modify the pedagogical process in a manner suitable for individual university members, according to material condition and specifics of performed study programmes.
The pedagogical process will thus take place on the premises of higher education institutions in accordance with the fulfillment of the PCT condition, except for the participants of tertiary education who are considered vulnerable groups. The pedagogical process for these groups will be performed in agreement with the higher education teacher. It should be noted that non-compliance with the PCT condition is not an exception for this method of work.
According to the Ordinance on the method of meeting the condition of morbidity, vaccination and testing to curb the spread of SARS-CoV-2 virus infections (Official Gazette of the RS no. 142/21), the PCT condition must be met by all who enter higher education premises, therefore also all University of Maribor students. The PCT condition is met if a person can provide one of the following:
- evidence of a negative result of a PCR test not older than 72 hours after swab collection or a HAG test not older than 48 hours after swab collection;
- an EU digital COVID certificate in digital or paper form, bearing the QR code;
- a digital COVID of a third country in digital or paper form, bearing a QR code containing at least the same information as the EU DCP and issued by the competent health authority of the third country in English;

Proof is obtained immediately after the second dose is received; the first dose of COVID-19 Vaccine Janssen by Johnson and Johnson / Janssen-Cilag. Proof shall be obtained on the day of vaccination;
- proof of a positive PCR test result older than ten days, unless the doctor decides otherwise, but not older than 180 days;
- proof of the disease referred to in the previous point and proof of vaccination demonstrating that they have been vaccinated with a single dose of the vaccine referred to in the first indent for a period not exceeding 180 days from the positive result of the PCR test or from the onset of symptoms. Protection is established on the day of vaccination.
Students who do not meet any of the above conditions can participate in the pedagogical process if they perform self-testing in the higher education premises with a HAG test. Accoding to the government Ordinance, each student is entitled to 5 self-testing kits per month, which he or her parents or legal representatives obtain at the pharmacy upon presentation of a health insurance card or upon submission of a school certificate and identity document if the person is a foreigner health insurance. For the purpose of self-testing proof, the student has to keep a record sheet containing the date of self-testing, the test result and the student's signature which guarantees the authenticity of the data on the record sheet. We are attaching the record sheet.
IMPORTANT: According to the Ordinance, the PCT condition is checked at the entrance to the higher education premises. In case you don't meet the PCT condition and you wish to meet the »T« condition (testing) with self-testing, a person in charge at the entrance will lead you to a room, designed for student self-testing. We kindly ask you to collect your self-testing kit at a pharmacy in advance and bring it with you.
