Enrolment into 1st cycle programmes

The study of tourism is the right choice for anyone who likes travelling, wants to work with people, discover new places, learn foreign languages, spend leisure time actively, are interested in other cultures … The study of tourism at the Faculty of Tourism will give you broad knowledge on different spheres of tourism – spa, sports, cultural, rural … You are going to combine theory and practice, as many successful entrepreneurs will give us a visit, and you will also be able to visit tourist attractions around Slovenia, Europe and the world. As one cannot learn about tourism only by books, 1st cycle study programmes include the internship in the last semester of each study programme. This will equip you with hands-on experience for work in different areas of tourism.

 At the Faculty of Tourism, you are able to choose from two undergraduate programmes:

Call for application

Call for application into 1st cycle study programmes for the academic year 2019-2020. Instructions for enrolment of foreign nationals, citizens of non-EU countries, are available here: ENG instructions. Application deadlines:

SLOVENIAN CITIZENS AND EU NATIONALS:

  • 1st application period: from 12th February to 18th March 2019.
  • 2nd application period: if positions are not filled in the first application period, the candidates will be able to apply in the second round from 11th to 13th September 2019 at the latest.

SLOVENIANS WITHOUT SLOVENIAN CITIZENSHIP ANF FOREIGN NATIONALS – CITIZENS OF NON-EU COUNTRIES:

  • 1st application period: from 12th February to 19th April 2019.
  • 2nd application period: from 11th to 13th September 2019 .

Applications for enrolment into 1st cycle study programmes of the University of Maribor in academic year 2019/20 have to be submitted online, namely via eVŠ web portal. Each candidate may submit more than one application, stating only one study programme in each application.

You may submit the application with:

1) DIGITAL CERTIFICATE

In this case you are not required to send the printed form by mail, but to submit your application on time via eVŠ web portal. Nevertheless, you are required to send the supporting documents (high school years 3 and 4 certificates and a verified copy of the high school diploma (general matura, vocational matura, final exam …) by registered mail to the Faculty of Tourism (Cesta prvih borcev 36, 8250 Brežice). The sent documents have to be labelled with a reference number of application for enrolment.

2) USERNAME AND PASSWORD

In this case you have to submit the application via eVŠ web portal on time, print it, sign it and together with supporting documentation (verified copies of high school years 3 and 4 certificates and a verified copy of the high school diploma (general matura, vocational matura, final exam …) send it by registered mail to Visokošolska prijavno-informacijska služba Univerze v Mariboru, Slomškov trg 15, p.p. 246, 2001 Maribor, not later than on the last date of each application period.

The following applications shall be considered as submitted on time:

  1. applications completed, electronically signed and submitted via eVŠ by the date stated in the call for enrolment;
  2. applications submitted via eVŠ by the deadline, printed with contents identical to the last application submitted in eVŠ, signed and delivered by registered mail to Visokošolska prijavno-informacijska služba Univerze v Mariboru, Slomškov trg 15, p.p. 246, 2001 Maribor, by the date stated in the call for enrolment.

All students who have been enrolled into an institution outside Slovenia and wish to continue their education at the University of Maribor, have to obtain an Agreement on the recognition on foreign education upon applying for studies at the UM. To obtain it, they have to fill in and submit an online application form for study programme via eVŠ web portal. Additional information regarding the recognition of foreign education procedure are available at the University of Maribor during office hours, every workday between 9 and 11 a.m. and 1 and 2 p.m., via telephone 00386 2 235 5263 or email priznavanjeizobrazevanja@um.si or recognition@um.si .

Prior the enrolment into the 2nd year of a study programme, students from other EU member states and students from other countries who are enrolled into full-time study programmes of the Faculty of Tourism, have to give a proof of attending an at least 30-hour course of the Slovenian language.
