Tourism Doctoral Symposium
The Doctoral Symposium organized by the University of Maribor, Faculty of Tourism, provides doctoral students a setting to informally expose and discuss their work, collecting valuable expert opinions and sharing new ideas, methods, and applications.
The Doctoral Symposium is an excellent opportunity for PhD students to present and discuss their work in a Workshop format. The event will be held online (MS Teams) at the following link: Tourism Doctoral Symposium.
Each session will start with a renowned expert's presentation, followed by a discussion on the topic.
The sessions will be held on Monday, 11th of December, as follows (Central European Winter Time):
- 08:00-09:30: Prof. Dr. Johan Edelheim, Hokkaido University: »The need for multiliteracies to conduct multimodal tourism research.«
- 10.00-11:30: Prof. Dr. Boštjan Brumen, University of Maribor, »Artificial Intelligence and Tourism.«
- 12:00-13:00: Prof. Dr. Maksim Godovykh, Rosen College of Hospitality Management, University of Central Florida, »The Current State of Tourism Research: How a Team of Doctoral Students Can Accelerate Progress.«
Participation at the symposium is free. The working language is English.
